One of the Humber region’s leading hotels saved thousands of pounds after asking Merlx to resolve some problems with lighting in their car park.

Management at the Hallmark Hotel at North Ferriby feared they faced a big bill for the replacement of 11 cables and for other work associated with the project.

Our approach was to conduct a proper inspection of all of the equipment in the car park, which is substantial and extends from the front of the hotel to the area at the side.

We identified that nine of the 11 cables were all right and only two needed to be replaced. That enabled us to provide an accurate quote for replacing the cables and installing three columns with LED floodlights. The inspection cost £500 but it saved the Hallmark Hotel thousands of pounds.

Serena Walters, General Manager at the hotel, said: “We asked Merlx if they could replace the external lighting but before they did that they conducted some testing to make sure we wouldn’t spend any more than we needed to. It turned out that we didn’t need to replace as much as we’d expected, so that was very beneficial and saved us money.”
